OU SHOULD DESTROY A&M

Stock Down
Chase Daniel, QB, Missouri
Daniel’s team-high 75 rushing yards was overshadowed by his erratic passing performance. The speed of Oklahoma’s defense proved to be overwhelming for the sophomore quarterback, who completed 23 of 44 attempts and threw three costly interceptions in the losing effort. Daniel’s overall play as a first-year starter has been pleasantly surprising, but he must prove he’s capable of recovering from this setback.
Next week’s trip to Nebraska will be a huge test of the youngster’s fortitude.
I just read on perezhilton.com that Brent has DUMPED Chase. Hopefully Chase will find another older man to be with. Perhaps, Pat Summerall is single. In the meantime, Brent on a plane headed to Austin to be with Colt McCoy

Stock Up, our boy Allen Patrick
Allen Patrick, RB, Oklahoma
Patrick had 43 career carries prior to the collarbone injury suffered by star running back Adrian Peterson. In two games as Peterson’s replacement, the 195-pound junior has totaled an astounding 71 carries for 272 yards in victories over Colorado and Missouri. Patrick’s tough north-south running style played a significant role in wearing down the Tigers’ undersized defense on Saturday in arguably the Sooners’ biggest win of the 2006 season.

I know playing with a busted lip, no other QB in the nation could come back against the SHITTY TECH D.

Look how STACKED OU’s Offense will be next year. The O Line will be compared to the great line from 2004. The young line will be all grown up. The WRs will be DOMINATE. The TE’s the best in the country. At running back we are STACKED. We just need a QB. Can Halzle do it? Maybe. Can Sam Bradford run the offense? Why not? Colt McCoy is doing it at Texas, in his redshirt freshman year.
ESPN chat today: Mark Schlabach has OU going to the Cotton Bowl
October 30, 2006 at 5:44 pm | In ESPN, Mark Schlabach | Leave a CommentFarva (U Maine): How come the sooners aren’t being talked about even though they had one of the biggest wins this last weekend? This is a team that should only have one loss vs. a stout Texas team. Will a this week on the road vs. their second straight ranked opponent get them the respect they deserve?
Mark Schlabach: Bob Stoops has done a great job keeping his team together after losing Rhett Bomar, the blown calls at Oregon and the injury to Adrian Peterson. Paul Thompson has played well at QB. Defense has improved. I’ve got them in the Cotton Bowl right now.

Davis Dandies: Five college players to watch
By Keenan Davis
Vote for Paul Thompson
Each week we will profile the Davis Dandies. These are performances by under-the-radar standouts from the college ranks in addition to the high-profile, soon-to-be money-makers that sometimes go unnoticed.
(Oct. 30, 2006) — This week’s nominees are:
1) Former quarterback turned wide receiver turned quarterback Paul Thompson took the 19th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners on the road to Columbia, Mo., (where locals were still hung over from the St. Louis Cardinals’ World Series victory) and defeated the 23rd- ranked Missouri Tigers 26-10. Thompson accounted for all three of the Sooners’ touchdowns (two passing and one rushing), leading his team to a 6-2 overall record. The 6-foot-3½, 215-pound quarterback prospect is not just an athlete playing the position. He has the ability to manage the game and moves well in and out of the pocket with exceptional ball-handling skills. The run-action pass is where Thompson has proved to be the most effective where he can get out on the perimeter and either beat you with his legs or arm. After waiting his turn to engineer the offense, changing positions three times, the fifth-year senior is one of college football’s feel-good stories this season.

CFN.scout.com (Collegefootballnews.com) changes its view of OU
October 29, 2006 at 6:34 pm | In college football news | Leave a CommentAfter the OU victory over Colorado, CFN wrote
Oklahoma might have been without Adrian Peterson against Colorado, but the rest of the team stepped up its play with a great day from backup RB Allen Patrick and a dynamite performance from the defense. Paul Thompson and the passing game will eventually have to do more, but the combination of a conservative running game and a pounding D should be enough to get by against the weaker Big 12 teams. Will it work against Missouri next week? No way. Expect Thompson to start throwing it more downfield than he did against the Buffs. He’ll have to.”
What did they say after the victory over Mizzou?
Does any team play better when its back is against the wall? Forget about the adversity of losing Adrian Peterson, OU gets two huge games from Allen Patrick and tight, efficient performances out of Paul Thompson on the way to wins over Colorado and Missouri. Give credit to a ball-hawking defense that’s forcing mistakes and tightening up when it has to. It let Mizzou QB Chase Daniel get his yards, but limited everyone else
