Paul Thompson signs with Titans

News 9 Sports in Oklahoma has learned that former OU quarterback Paul Thompson has signed a future contract with the Tennessee Titans. Thompson will join the team in March and will compete for one of the backup spots behind current Titans starter Vince Young.

“They were persistent in their pursuit of me and we felt like this was the best fit right now,” Thompson said Wednesday morning on KREF’s “T-Row in the Morning Show.”

Thompson played with the Green Bay Packers throughout last year’s preseason and earned the third-string job before being released when the Packers made the decision to only carry two quarterbacks on their roster.

Former Sooner wide receiver Brandon Jones is also currently on the Tennessee Titans roster.
