The Sporting News Big 12 Preseason Players Of The Year are Adrian Peterson and Rufus Alexander

Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson and Rufus Alexander have been tabbed The Sporting News Preseason Big 12 Players of the Year for offense and defense, respectively. TSN's preseason publication will be available in June. 
 
Peterson and Alexander were joined in the All-Big 12 first team by C.J. Ah You.Peterson, a running back, is the first player in OU history to rush for 3,000 yards combined in his first two seasons. Alexander is a Butkus Award candidate after registering 17 tackles for loss as the weak side linebacker last season, and Ah You, a defensive end, was the consensus Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and defensive MVP of the Holiday Bowl last season.
 
Other honorees for OU included second-team selections WR Malcolm Kelly, QB Rhett Bomar and CB D.J. Wolfe. DT Gerald McCoy was named the defensive newcomer of the year.
