Oklahoma might have been without Adrian Peterson against Colorado, but the rest of the team stepped up its play with a great day from backup RB Allen Patrick and a dynamite performance from the defense. Paul Thompson and the passing game will eventually have to do more, but the combination of a conservative running game and a pounding D should be enough to get by against the weaker Big 12 teams. Will it work against Missouri next week? No way. Expect Thompson to start throwing it more downfield than he did against the Buffs. He’ll have to.”
