NORMAN — Oklahoma defensive back Darien Williams had surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot Monday, according to the Sooners
Williams could be sidelined for up to six weeks. He is expected to be back in time for OU’s season-opener on Sept. 1 vs. North Texas. Williams is a senior from Mesquite, Texas.

    another question for a weak secondary…well perhaps not weak in talent, but in performance. i continually wonder why they under-perform.

    i watched smith in high school and never thought anyone would list him as the #1 player in the conference. he was abused by marquis hamilton throughout high school.

    i feel he is overrated as a cover man and so is the secondary. he gets it done as a return man though.
