And because of that, Oklahoma State could load 9 in the box. How can OU not have a QB on campus healthy and on the roster who can complete a pass? Don’t give me his shitty stats, stats are for losers. Cody just can’t play QB in division 1 football.
Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight will miss Saturday’s game at Texas Tech.
Coach Bob Stoops made the announcement Thursday. Knight was injured during last Saturday’s loss to Baylor after he took a big hit. Stoops said Monday that Knight did not sustain a concussion, but said Thursday that he was not medically cleared to play.
KFOR-TV of Oklahoma City reported that Knight didn’t take a snap in practice during the week and that he is wearing a neck brace.
Redshirt freshman Cody Thomas – – who has played in four games and is 5-of-16 for 50 yards, no touchdowns and one interception – – will get the start. Senior Blake Bell, who was moved to tight end after playing quarterback in his first three seasons on campus, is in line to be the backup.
While Thomas is inexperienced, he will be going against one of the worst defenses in the nation. Texas Tech is 120th in total defense and allows an average of 502.1 yards per game. Presumably, OU will have a run-heavy offensive scheme for Saturday, and the Red Raiders surrender 245.6 rushing yards per game.
The game is important for bowl positioning for Oklahoma, which already has lost three times.
